Edible cannabis products, such as gummies and mints are discrete and produce long-lasting effects. When consumed responsibly and knowing how much to consume, they’re fantastic.
If you are not careful, edibles can take you on an unexpected path. It’s therefore important to decide what type of experience you would like to have.
You can’t harm your body by eating too much cannabis, but you can avoid unwanted effects if you understand the dosage and how to get the best edible for you.

Finding your ideal edible dose
What is the recommended milligrams per day of edibles? Each individual has a dose that is best suited to them and their body. The strength of an edible is determined by many factors.

Depending on these factors, two individuals can respond very differently to a similar type of edible at the same dosage. One person may be very stoned and another may not even get stoned. Start with a small amount of edibles, and increase it gradually until you reach your optimal dose.

We recommend starting with 2.5 mg if you have never consumed edibles. In most cases, five mg is considered one dose. 2.5 mg, however, is half a dose.
Here are some tips on how to make edibles for the first time.
- Dispensaries often sell edibles in doses of 2.5 mg, 10 mg, or 5 mg. We recommend purchasing gummies or mints that are easily cut into smaller pieces.
- Check the labeling of each edible to see how it is dosed.
- You can take more but not less. After taking edibles for at least an hour, if you still don’t get any effects or would like stronger effects, then take another 2.5mg.
